A group of IRL Streamers are visiting in Japan and people's receptions are mixed. Some choose to attack them on the street and others stay quiet, only allowing themselves to leave comments online.
I see IRL streaming to be a new way of content making. Just like how it was when photography was introduced to the general public, new medium have always caused frictions in the society when first introduced.
However, there has to be presumption; these streamers need to acknowledge the cultural sensitivities. Japan is not the best place for foreigners to travel as a streamer group, which naturally draws attention, negative and positive.
As much as I wish for the tourism industry here to thrive by appealing to the wider audience, it cannot be done by us alone; Visitors too must address the public concerns and behave in a legal, respectful manner.
