東ティモールで行われた国際的なパーマカルチャー(※1)の若者の集い(６日間のキャンプ)の一幕です。
歌と踊りが大好きなティモールの人たち。手を繋いで踊るとすぐに友達になれます。
イベント中に何度輪になって踊ったことでしょう。

★国際パーマカルチャー若者の集い（International permaculture Youth Convergence = IPYC）
環境破壊を乗り越えて、人が自然と調和して暮らしていくために、国境を越えて繋がり、知恵を共有して実践していこうと、
エゴ・レモス Ego Lemos さん（東ティモールの国民的ミュージシャンであり環境活動家）始め、パーマカルチャーの国内外の団体（PermatilやPetmatil grobal）によって主催され、東ティモールを含む２０ヵ国から数百人が集いました。
日中は、パーマカルチャーの知恵を共有して実践する様々なワークショップが行われ、夜はミュージックフェスティバルで大いに盛り上がるという、「人と人」「人と自然」が繋がる最高に幸せな場でした。
(※1) パーマカルチャー‥「パーマネント(永続性)」と「カルチャー(文化)、アグリカルチャー(農)」を組み合わせた造語で、人と自然が共生できる持続可能な社会を目指すデザイン手法。1970年代にオーストラリアのビル・モリソンとデイヴィッド・ホルムグレンが提唱。「3つの倫理」として、Earth Care(地球を大切にする)、People Care(人を大切にする)、Fair Share(豊かさを公平に分かち合う)がある。
This is a scene from an International Permaculture(*1) Youth Convergence (6-day camp) held in East Timor.
The Timorese people love to sing and dance. We quickly become friends when we hold hands and dance. We danced in circles countless times during the event.

★International Permaculture Youth Convergence（IPYC）
The event was organized by Ego Lemos (a nationally famous musician and environmental activist in East Timor) and permaculture organizations both domestic and international (Permatil and Petmatil Global),
hundreds of people from 20 countries, including East Timor, gathered together to connect across borders, share wisdom, and put it into practice in order to overcome environmental destruction and enable people to live in harmony with nature.
During the day, various workshops were held to share and practice permaculture wisdom, and at night, the atmosphere was filled with excitement with a music festival, making it a truly happy place where people could connect with each other and with nature.
(※1) Permaculture‥A portmanteau of "permanent" and "culture" or "agriculture," it is a design methodology that aims to create a sustainable society where people and nature can coexist. It was proposed by Australians Bill Mollison and David Holmgren in the 1970s. Its "three ethics" are Earth Care, People Care, and Fair Share.
